Globular Star Clusters
For the first time, I've started working on some clusters with the newt. The first image
shown below is a cropped portion of a photo of the globular M3 taken with the SXV-H9, TT
color wheel/Astronomik filters on the 10in/f4.8 newt. The exposure info is lum 12X180sec
(unbinned), 12X60sec RG and 13X65sec B (RGB bin 2X2).

The newt uses a double circular spider to avoid diffraction spikes, but unfortunately, this
leads to the diffracted light forming a figure 8, and ultimately an oval around bright stars,
not such a good idea. I didn't use the coma corrector on the subs for this exposures,
some coma is evident, I'll use it next time.

The photo below is from a crop of the globular cluster M53, taken with the H9/TT CW/LRGB filters
through the SPX250/4.8. Exposure info: lum 5X300s (1X1); RG 7X120s,B 8X125s (color bin 2X2)
