These images of Venus were taken just after sunset on 5/9/07 with the Skynyx 2-0
through an Orion X2 barlow on the Mewlon 250. The comparison performed was
between an inexpensive W47/IRB filter combo and a Schuler UV filter. The UV filter
seems to offer slightly higher contrast on the clouds.
This LRGB shot of venus was taken the evening of July 7, 2007 w/ the
Mewlon 250 @ f/38. Astonomik LRGB filters in a Truetech wheel, two 2deg
Risley prisms, and a X2 barlow preceeded the camera in the optical train.
Seeing was 4/10, transparency 3/5. A UV exposure sequence didn't show any
interesting cloud structure, so it was not used in the final image.
This shot of venus was captured the
morning of 10/31/2007 w/ the
Mewlon, Astronomik RGB and
Schuler UV filters. The image set the
UV data to a false blue/violet color
for clarity of the clouds
